I am a Neuroscience PhD student at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from Penn State in 2008 with degrees in Natural Science, Psychology, and Russian. I spent 8 months living in St. Petersburg, Russia and I speak and write Russian. I worked at the National Institute of Mental Health for two years working on a project investigating which subregions of the brain store spatial memories. I have been fascinated by the brain and its amazing capacities for as long as I can remember.
I am a baseball fan, avid traveler, and trekker. I have visitied many countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia including Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Bosnia, Albania, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. My favorite traveling experience was trekking in the remote Pamir mountains among nomads and yurts, fording icy creeks, and struggling to get anywhere very quickly. I am also politics junkie who can name all the US senators by state.
