LEMONADE's creative team:

Jais Brohinsky (playwright) began writing plays when he was six and quickly became the leading playwright in his parents’ house.  The sudden fame was too much, and he swore never to write a play again, a promise kept until 2007 when he wrote and composed his first full-length musical, Roosevelt Elementary, which was produced at The Midnight Sun in Olympia, WA and published by Scene 4 Magazine.  In 2008, his play Painting Tomatoes was a finalist in NYC’s Strawberry One Act Festival and won Playwrights Theater’s national one act competition.  That same year, his musical The Once American Dream was selected for workshop at the national literary conference “PRESS”.  Most recently Jais staged two readings of new works, The Puzzle done at LAByrinth Theater Company and Masters of the Universe presented by The Centrifuge’s reading series Fresh Ground Pepper.  Jais works with Original Works Publishing and is an associate member of The Dramatists Guild.  His prose has been published by journals including Thieves Jargon, Word Riot, Wheelhouse Magazine, Admit 2, Inkwell, and more.

David Denson (director) currently lives and works in New York, directing and developing new plays and producing the National Conference for Theatre Communications Group.  David has directed the world premiere productions of Kate Chell's The Ressurectionist; Jeff Hirsch's Destination and A Private Conversation; Foster Soloman's The Penny Executive: The Maggie L. Walker Story and OBIE award winner, Harold Levitt's The Song of the Speechless Whore.  As an assistant, David served under Phillip Oesterman for the pre-Broadway workshop of the TONY nominated Urban Cowboy: The Musical and the world premiere of Chiori Miyagawa's Leaving Eden: The Chekhov Project.  David recently returned to NYC after spending several years in Dallas, TX where he directed Slaughter City, The Underpants, The Good Person of Setzuan, Hamlet, and [sic] for Southern Methodist University and served as the Artistic Associate and resident Dramaturg at the nationally recognized Dallas Theater Center, where he worked on numerous productions including Pride and Prejudice directed by Stan Wojewodski, Jr; Des Moines by National Book Award winner, Dennis Johnson; The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead directed by Mark Lamos; Glengarry Glen Ross; The Misanthrope; Hank Williams: Lost Highway; A Christmas Carol and Hot Georgia Sunday.  David received his BFA in performance from East Carolina University and his MFA in directing from Southern Methodist University.
