I come from Nashville, and was raised in a house where music was being written. My dad is a country songwriter, has had many a hit in the past 35 years; surely some of that country backbeat and song structure was in my blood by the time I began writing songs when I was 13. These tendencies were solidified when I wrote country songs "professionally" for three years in Nashville, with other veteran Nashville writers, including my dad. When I was 21 I moved to LA and made my first record, called 'Vacations,' in a couple of studios in Hollywood. I worked with some fine folks there, including the Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Csaba Petocz, and JD Andrew, who has been recording and touring in the last few years with Billy Bob Thorton, in their band The Boxmasters.  A few years later my best musician friends and I rented a house in the valley and made my second record, 'The Glass is Half.'. Both of these records are available on iTunes, and songs from both have been featured on the shows Greek, and Army Wives. In 2006 I decided I'd like to be educated, so I put my musical doings on the backest of burners and attended school full time in Santa Monica before moving to New York in 2008 to complete my degree in Creative Writing at Columbia University. In the meantime, in Brooklyn, I encountered a scene of songwriters such as I have never encountered before and began playing weekly shows with them in fine NYC venues. Some of these musicians (Niall Connolly, E.W. Harris, and more) will be appearing on the new record. In fact, E.W.Harris is in the producer chair this time, and his focus on folktronics and rich atmosphere will make this new record, which shall be called, It Shapes Me as it Goes, much different than my previous two. After this record is done, I am up and moving to Europe for awhile where I will complete my first tour and continue to fiercely singer-songwrite.
